I have been having a seriously large lack of luck in the thrifting world... this is the second week of finding absolutely nothing there. I finally broke down and went up to my local antique mall and thankfully found some goodies up there.
According to my dad, for the sake of storage, I should really limit my furniture intake. But...then I found this...and I saw the price tag...and the additional 10% off sign... So I couldn't help but cart the yellow Cosco stool home. Can you blame me?
Also in the same booth, I found this Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book Souvenir Edition from 1965. I think it will go wonderfully with my existing collection (See: An Ode to Better Homes) and for $5, is completely worth cleaning off my shelf some.
There is also finally some new Pyrex in my life. My dad found this bunch up at the antique mall for only $20...including the two odd bonus bowls. I'll go with that. I didn't have much of this pattern. Okay, so I might not have needed any more mixing bowls.
What can I say...most girls have shoes, I have Pyrex. Well that's all for now folks, Happy Thrifting! Linking up over at Thriftasaurus, The Nifty Thrifty, and Young Heart!
Haha you sound like me! I have no more room for furniture yet I bring it home! Vintage that is =)
ReplyDeleteLove your stepping stool! I am dying to find a vintage one that is made in the USA. I found one cosco one but it was made in china....no good!
I also have a ton of Pyrex and I can never have enough!
Hahaha thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one having some furniture "issues"...I can't seem to leave something if it's vintage and is in good shape/can be fixed/can be repurposed if it is a good deal and I like it. My Pyrex collecting is getting a little out of hand...I think this is my nineth set of mixing bowls...
DeleteMaybe my luck will be changing too - two weeks for me and nothing either.....hope you're lucky next time you venture out too...
ReplyDeleteThanks Jill and hopefully things start looking up for you! Thank goodness I have a couple go to antique places for when times get desperate.
DeleteGreat finds! I've been eyeing one of those stools for a while now, glad you got one for a good price! And awesome Pyrex find! Can't beat that price!
ReplyDeleteThanks Melissa! I have always liked those stools...I just never figured I would find one for such a good price!
DeleteNice finds. I love those old Costco stools -- my grandmother always had one (that exact color) in her kitchen.
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather! I'm pretty tickled with the stool as well, I was kinda surprised at the price and knew I would regret leaving it.
DeleteI love the stool! I had one when I was in college - it was a restored one painted shiny red...I was stupid and sold it so I didn't have to bring it home with me when I graduated. How stuuupid! Glad you found one, though! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Madee! It's one of those things that you wouldn't really expect to be as difficult to find as it is! hahaha
DeleteYou found some seriously cool things! My boyfriend would probably like me to limit furniture intake as well but I have a h rd time passing up cool stuff at a good price. :)
ReplyDeletePlease come by and share these on my link up!
Thanks Wendy! I'm so relieved I'm not the only one with some furniture love! Now linked up!
DeleteLove the Cosco stool! I found mine at the flea market last year. It's turquoise and PERFECT! My sister found an orange one at a garage sale for 5 bucks. It needs a little work but she is up for the challenge.
ReplyDeleteErica
Thanks Erica! I must admit even with the yellow one, I still hope to come by a turquoise one some day! How lucky!
DeleteLove the stool I have a similar one I picked up two years ago from the thrift store but my son has ruined it. It needs to be recovered as he scribbled with pen and ended up poking through the seat
